For me, photographing children has never simply been about taking a good photograph. It starts with making a connection.
With many years of experience photographing people of all ages, I have learned that the best photographs happen when someone forgets about the camera. I take the time to talk, laugh and have fun with children, allowing their confidence and personality to come through naturally.
Every child is different, so I don’t believe in rushing a session or watching the clock. I would much rather spend a little more time building that connection and create photographs that genuinely feel like them.
